Mt. Makalu is world's fifth highest mountain in the world rising to 8,463 meters and it located east to Mt. Everest, just distance of 14 miles. Its size alone is impressive and its perfect pyramid shaped structure with four sharp ridges makes this mountain more spectacular. Makalu has proved to be a challenging climb, which is considered one of the most difficult mountains in the world for climb. The mountain is notorious for its steep pitches and knife-edged ridges that are completely open to the elements. The final ascent of the summit pyramid involves technical rock climbing.
This expedition trip begins from Kathmandu and flight intoTimlingtar. It will take 9/10 days to reach in Base Camp and all the international climbers assemble in the base camp situated at the altitude of 4870m. Himalayan Yetiland Treks provides all necessary infrastructures to assist you in your summit attempt in Makalu. We will do the necessary paperwork for expedition permit organize all accommodation before and after expedition. We organize camp facilities, transport loads, stock and set up high camps, fix ropes, provide food, high altitude food, high quality tents, porters, professional Climbing Sherpas, oxygen, satellite telephone, Wake Talkie set, as well advice and assistance as per needed during the expedition.
