The world's third highest peak is Mt. Kanchenjunga, rising to 8586 meters high. Kanchenjungha is located on the border of Nepal and India (Sikkim), only a few miles from Tibet. In keeping with its name "five treasure houses of the great snows" the Kanchenjunga Himal is a grand collection of shapely spires. It is unique in as much as it is buttressed north and south as well as east and west by mountains of equal stature. This multi-topped massif comprises of four summits. Main Summit, Middle Summit, South Summit & Yalung Kang or West Summit , each one measuring over eight thousand meters. It was first climbed by a British team in 1956. Since then it is became popular both trekkers and climbers.
The route (along the North Face) is definitely the safest, although not the easiest climb. The climb of Kanchenjunga begins from a charming base camp with meadows and a Panoramic view at 5,180 m. First challenge is to fix lines up 900m. of intricate mixed climbing to the North col. This provides the most challenging climbing of the expedition. Once creating a lifeline to and from the North Col you can begin the long process of establishing three camps up the long and complicated North ridge. Using Sherpa support and oxygen, you can move at a systematically slow velocity higher and higher up the mountain. This is a highly satisfying climb for the expert climbers.
For the expedition, Himalayan Yetiland Treks provides all necessary infrastructures to assist you in your summit attempt. We will do the necessary paperwork for expedition permit organize all accommodation before and after expedition. We organize camp facilities, transport loads, stock and set up high camps, fix ropes, provide food, high altitude food, high quality tents, porters, professional Climbing Sherpas, oxygen, satellite telephone, Wake Talkie set, as well advice and assistance as per needed during the expedition.
