Mt. Gyachung Kang is a 7,952 metres high mountain and lies in Khumbu region. This peak is situated almost central position amongst the some of the high peaks of eastern Nepal Himalaya, including Mt. Everest and Mt. Cho Oyu. Its twin snow and rock peaks tower above the immediate surroundings and separated by a narrow saddle. The approach is easy by Gokyo Lake, then by crossing from the Ngozumpa glacier. This peak was first climbed by Y. Kato and Pasang Phutar of Japanese expedition in 1964. The route presents some small technical difficulties and care should be taken for possible avalanches.

10 Gokyo Lake . Visit Gokyo Ri (5360m) for acclimatization.

Expenses For Gyachung Kang expedition: The cost for Mt. Gyachung Kang 7952m. expedition will depend on several different factors. The types of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and during the trek to Gyachung Kang base camp will make a difference to the overall cost (Budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your Gyachung Kang climbing trip, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van. The size of climbing team as well number of Climbing guide and porters required will also affect the total cost of the Gyachung Kang expedition. For these reasons on the same Mt. Gyachung Kang expedition can vary in price quite substantially.

 Service includes:   

  • All land transportation: Airport /Hotel/Airport, trekking, expedition pick up & drop.
  • 6 Nights Accommodation in Kathmandu at a tourist class Hotel on bed & breakfast plan as per given itinerary.
