Trek to Mustang region is the way to explore the tremendous diversity of culture and landscape, which is quite similar to Tibet. The trail reached following the old trade route to Tibet along the bank of the Kali Gandaki. You will explore the beauty against the backdrop of majestic mountains before ascending to the famous pilgrimage site at Muktinath adds the charm in your trip to Annapurna. The region is situated North of the Annapurna Himal on the Tibetan border. Mustang is a rugged mysterious arid and haunting wilderness region set amid a lunar landscape of wind eroded hills and cliffs. A Kingdom within a Kingdom, Mustang's wealth was derived from its position on the Kali Gandaki valley known as Thak Khola trade route to Tibet, the region still retains its own King.

This region was forbidden to foreigners until 1992 and Mustang remains a controlled region which very few people visit, a deliberate policy of cultural and environmental preservation. Our destination is the exotic walled city of Lo Manthang the seat of the King. The Kings Palace is surrounded by a maize of gompas and private houses all enshrined within the city boundary clay walls. Unmolested Mustang is frozen in time it remains one of the ultimate journeys ever likely to be made in one lifetime.

Expenses For The Trip: The cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The types of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and during the trek will make a difference to the overall cost (Budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package trip, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guide, assistant guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of the trek. For these reasons on the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
