Introduction:
Thriving sport and adventure event in Europe and some other parts of the world 'CANYONING' is taking shape as one of the major components of adventure activities in the Nepal Himalaya. After constant efforts of Nepal Canyoning Association along with the support of Nepali Canyoneers and international canyoneers especially from France have made it possible that Nepalese mountains now are ready to offer over two dozen canyoning sites where adventurers can quench their thirst of thrilling adventure. Exploration and development of new canyoning sites in Nepal has been growing day by day along with growth in number of professional canyoneers in the country.
Canyoning in Nepal becomes more unique as the canyons are situated in the remote parts of the country where wonderful culture
and landscape welcome visitors. Some canyons are in close proximity from the capital city of Kathmandu within less then one hours drive and some others are situated on the lap of the Himalayan mountain making itself the canyoning site situated on the highest elevation in the world. Given the varied and extremely beautiful geographic features canyoning in Nepal can be combined with various other adventure activities such as Trekking, Rafting, Caving and Climbing.

Canyonign Trips in Marshyangdi valley
There are number of canyoning sites opened for professional canyoning trips in this area including the highest canyoning site in the world Naar Phu at 5200mtr. Worth to note that Annapurna area is one of the best tourist destinations in the Himalaya for trekking and climbing.

Bhote Koshi valley is in the distance of three hours drive from Kathmandu offering wonderful canyons and rafting options as well as it serves as the gateway to Tibet the roof of the world.

Canyonign Trips in Kakani
Kakani is situated in the short drive (40min) from Kathmandu offering two wonderful canyons namely Phung Phuge and Chhare. The canyoning trip can be completed in one day if one wish to do only one canyon otherwise there is facility of staying overnight in local vilalger owned lodge.
One Day Trip Itinerary:
- Early morning gather near the tourist town of Thamel and drive to Dhansar village, walk 30 minutes to the head of the Canyon of Phung Phugye.
- Start Canyoning for 2-3 hours, return trek to road head, have lunch at the local resort / restaurant
- Drive back & arrive in Kathmandu by 7.00PM
Two Day's Trip Itinerary:
Day 01
- Early morning gather near the tourist town of Thamel and drive to Dhansar village, walk 30 minutes to the head of the Canyon of Phung Phugye.
- Start Canyoning for 2-3 hours, return trek to road head, have lunch at the local resort / restaurant. May be more canyoning and spend the night at Jurethum Village
Day 02
- Early morning take a breakfast do some more canyoning till lunch.
- After lunch have a tour of village and return back to Kathmandu by 5.00PM
